Inspired by SGT Kathy Lynn Duffie, our Sanctuary provides all the necessary medical care, food and love for all the animals in our care to live out the rest of their lives in a cage-free environment.

To educate, inspire and empower all people to be better stewards of the environment and their own well-being.

Helping Animals Live and Overcome (H.A.L.O.) provides a no-kill safe haven where extraordinary measures are taken to save homeless pets and protect them from abuse and neglect. H.A.L.O. believes in engaging our community by providing resources, education, and programs to do the same.

The Humane Society of Vero Beach & Indian River County makes a better community for its people and animals by:

Providing humane care and shelter for homeless animals.
Placing adoptable pets in permanent loving homes.
Promoting spaying and neutering of companion animals.
Promoting responsible pet ownership and the respect for all life through humane education.
